Albert A. McClain, Jr., MD, AAOHNSAlbert A. McClain Jr., M.D. received his B.A. degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego and was awarded the National Institute of Health MARC Scholarship and also worked at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California. He earned his medical degree from the prestigious University of California, San Francisco and was awarded the School of Medicine Scholarship. He completed his residency at Drew/UCLA where he was named the Outstanding Teaching Resident by the Class of 1992. He completed a fellowship in Otology/Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the Minnesota Ear, Head and Neck Clinic under Michael M. Paperella M.D. Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, California Medical Society, San Diego County Medical Society, and Society of Robotic Surgeons. He has served as an Assistant Professor at Drew/UCLA and as Chief of Staff Elect at Paradise Valley Hospital 2006-2007. He was awarded Physician of the Year Surgical/Anesthesia Services in 2004 and Specialist/Consultant of the Year 2006. He has served on numerous Boards including the Elementary Institute of Science, Drummond Medical Group, and Paradise Valley Hospital. He was the first surgeon in San Diego County to perform Transoral Robotic Surgery. |
